A devotion/reflection for those who are bullied by fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. church.
After ten years in a church, I experienced for about 8 months bullied tactics about a problem, which wasn't spoken to me about. Ever since I left that church, all they have done is nothing but grumble to other churches about me and the place where I have lived for 13 years. My home is a save heaven from God and the church (God's house) is supposed to be save without bullying.
Concerning the issue at hand, members of the concerned church went behind my back to the Interim Pastor, I did the right thing and brought the matter up to him, but he didn't listen to me, I even resigned from the position concerned. I truly believe that the Interim Pastor and the members of that church abused God's word. For example, Matthew18:15-19 talks about how to deal with people but that is only after they are spoken too, and if they don't listen to reason. But in my case no one took me aside to speak to me, therefore only bullied tactics were used. My experience has led me to have a code of silence in the Lord, forgive those who have bullied me, pray for those who bullied me, my faith has increased in the Lord to move on serving the Him, even though my brothers and sisters in Christ from the church I was at continue to grumble to other churches I visit. I am reminded of James 5:8 where it indicates that in uncomfortable moments, be patient and stand firm in Christ Jesus! Awesome! And a message for my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, James 5:9 mentions about not grumbling against your brothers and sisters in Christ or you will be judged. In other words, Jesus will be standing at their door and also mine if I didn't forgive them. Finally, James 5:12 says, "Above all, my brothers and sisters do not swear, not by heavens or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple, yes or no. Otherwise, you will be condemned." I have said a simple, "yes" to praising and serving our Lord Jesus Christ in a mighty way and "no" to bullying from my fellow believers in my walk with Jesus. After all, we serve a risen Saviour, in the mighty Jesus Christ and not believers who think they can control the lives of believers.
